World-Building & Creative Writing

Craft entire worlds and unforgettable stories through imagination, detail, and voice.

Overview
World-Building & Creative Writing is a small-group course (max 6 students) where teens learn how to create immersive universes, compelling characters, and stories that feel alive. From fantasy realms to futuristic cities, students develop the skills to imagine, write, and share worlds of their own.

Course Goals

  • Learn the techniques of world-building: culture, geography, history, and lore.

  • Explore character creation and how individuals shape their worlds.

  • Write engaging stories, scenes, and descriptions that bring worlds to life.

  • Build confidence as a writer with mentorship and peer support.

How Classes Work

  • Twice a week, 75 minutes per session.

  • Rolling starts with year-round enrollment — no catch-up stress; one-on-one breakout time per session.

  • Materials: just a notebook and pen, though digital writing is welcome.

  • Classes are live, interactive, and hands-on — sessions are not recorded.

  • Parents: encouraged to support but not micromanage; check-ins welcome anytime.

Who This Is For

  • Teens (13–17) eager to unleash their imagination and storytelling voice.

  • Students who love fantasy, sci-fi, or any world where creativity has no limits.

  • Writers who want to move beyond “just a story” into something rich and unforgettable.
